Uhh... I think this isn’t supposed to work like this. (That’s High-Speed Ring, too.)

So Tourist Trophy was just GT4 with bikes instead of cars?

If it’s not obvious...
This is a 2005 Yamaha TMAX:
It’s a 500 cc scooter - one that was known for being particularly sporty when it came out, but still, a scooter. In-game, it has 38 horsepower (OK, I think that’s with the performance exhaust, and I also put on performance tires, but still).
This is a 2005 Yamaha VMAX:
It’s a 1200 cc power cruiser. In-game, it has 138 horsepower.
High-Speed Ring is, well, a high-speed circuit.
(The trick is that the TMAX is seriously OP as far as handling in Tourist Trophy, and the VMAX... isn’t. To the point that even on a high-speed circuit, I could beat it.)

Pretty much.
They also removed the whole money system - you just challenged for bikes you wanted, and also got rewarded bikes for winning challenges and championships.
And, they removed B-Spec, because if you don’t need it to grind for cash, and all the races are short (all the GT4 pit lanes are barricaded off, too - tire wear is the only concern), why bother?

Tourist Trophy! The NSR250 was my favorite bike in the game. Slow, but it handled so well.
